AN ex-chef from Motherwell has praised Recruitment Zone for helping him focus on a new career in customer services with a Pan-European business process outsourcer.
Gary Crawford (21) only began his employment with Glasgow based Indigo Lighthouse in October 2005 but in that time he has already made a big impression on the firm.
Gary, who lives in Holytown near Motherwell, decided it was time for a career change after spending five years working in kitchens and training to be a chef. He commented:
“I had never worked in an office environment before and it was something which had always intrigued me. I felt that if I was going to make such a drastic change of career I had to do it while I was young and felt like a challenge.”
Gary spotted and responded to an advert for a position with Indigo Lighthouse, a leading-edge Customer Relationship Management specialist.
Gary was immediately impressed with the attention and help he received from Recruitment Zone:
“They really helped to get my new career moving. I contacted them after seeing the position advertised and they arranged an interview for me within a couple of days. They also phoned on the morning of the interview to help me prepare and followed up with another call after the interview to see how I did. I found out later the same day that I had been successful.
“The level of service they offered was excellent. The contact I had with them was consistent as I dealt with one advisor throughout, and she showed a genuine interest in my career prospects and helped me to make a good impression during my interview.”
Gary is now employed as a Customer Service Advisor for Indigo’s UK team. He added:
“I’m glad I decided to branch out into a new career. It’s been a steep learning curve, but it’s also been enjoyable and I now have much better job security than in my previous roles. There are numerous opportunities within this company and I’m certainly happy with the way things are going right now, so who knows how my career could progress from here?”
