Role: HR Policy and Advice
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £24000 - £28000 + Excellent benefits
Duration: 9 months fixed term contract
Our client is looking for somebody to join there HR Policy and Advice Services team based in Edinburgh. The position available is full-time and for a fixed term period of 9 months.
Skills required:
Ability to question, listen and build rapport with managers at all levels
Skill to probe and separate complex issues when evaluating a situation
Present a logical and coherent argument to support advice given
Risk assessment and commercial awareness
A collaborative approach with the ability to flex your style as required
Handle conflict effectively and be able to influence at all levels
Excellent knowledge of HR Policies, procedures and employment law interpretation
Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to customer demands
Excellent customer orientation
Tasks the role will involve:
Provide professional telephony support to line managers on people/business issues relating to in-scope HR policies.
Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice to line managers on a range of employee issues including disciplinary, performance, absence and grievance in order to minimise risk to the business by ensuring advice is consistent within each business area and in line with legislation and policy.
Through skilled probing, make an assessment of cases applying experience and professional judgement on appropriate actions.
Provide effective coaching to line managers to enable them to confidently deal with employee issues.
Take into account demanding SLAs to prioritise calls and adopt a sense of urgency when required.
Adapt communication and influencing skills as appropriate to positively shape action taken by customers.
