Data Analyst – Edinburgh – Permanent – Competitive Salary + Package
My financial services client is looking for a Data Analyst to join their Edinburgh based team on a permanent basis.
• The Data Analyst has responsibility for data sourcing, validation and production delivery of standard subscription services. These currently include ESG calibration services; scenario set services; product risk services; retirement portfolio planning updates; and ad-hoc analytical services.
• The Data Analyst has a strong operations and production delivery focus and will work closely with stakeholders to ensure ongoing improvement and quality assurance of services delivered. The role will also provide ad-hoc data analysis and support for a wide range of internal research and development projects.
• The Data Analyst will assist the Production Service Delivery Manager with data management (sourcing, evaluating, delivery and storage), capacity management, service availability and operational support initiatives.
• The role requires an experienced financial market analyst with excellent proven skills in delivery and support of production services and analytical products.
Essential Skills:
• Experience in executing and delivering regular data services across a suite of products
• Experience and knowledge of third party market data vendors and solutions
• Experience and knowledge of a wide range of financial and economic market data content
• Strong MS Excel skills and experience of working with VBA
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to understand and draw conclusions from complex issues logically and systematically
• Strong communication skills with ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong team player who builds and maintains collaborative working relationships and readily shares knowledge with others
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver high levels and quality of work to deadlines
• Ability to work flexibly and participate in occasional out-of-hours work to ensure timely delivery of production services
• Demonstrates pro-active drive, a positive can-do attitude and desire to go the extra mile
